I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home and came to know Christ at an early age. I’m deeply grateful for this foundation—just as I learned to trust and love my earthly parents, I also came to know God as my heavenly Father and grew in love for His Son, Jesus.

I began serving in full-time ministry in 1996 at a church in Birmingham, Alabama, and have been serving here at First Baptist Church Athens since February 2015.

I’ve been married to my wonderful wife, Marilyn, since June 22, 1996. We have two children: our son, Caleb, who lives in Gardendale, Alabama, with his wife, Brianna; and our daughter, Brooke, who lives here in Athens with her husband, Ian Namie. Brooke and Ian have a daughter, Katie, our beautiful granddaughter.
