Bio: Born in Athens, AL to Dwight and Misty Calder. Raised in Ardmore, AL with a brother and a sister. I was saved and baptized at the age of 7 years old at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. Around the age of 16, God began calling me into ministry. I surrendered to His call, and the rest is history.
About Me:
Favorite Bible Verse: James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
Favorite Book of the Bible: James
Favorite food or restaurant: I love a good ribeye steak from Outback Steakhouse. My girlfriend and I enjoy eating Chick Fil A.
Favorite Sports Team: I am a diehard Alabama football fan. I occasionally enjoy watching the Atlanta Braves.
Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and family. We enjoy hiking, and road trips. Personally, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, slow pitch softball, and backyard football with friends. I occasionally strum a guitar. My greatest passion is investing in our students at First Baptist.
Favorite Vacation: I enjoy vacationing at the beach. My family and I try to go at least once a year. Nothing like setting under an umbrella on the beach with a leadership book in hand. My dream vacation would be a trip to Hawaii.
Favorite Old Testament Story or Character: I’m a big Jonah fan. Like Jonah, I’ve ran from what I knew God was calling me to do . . . it never ends well. Jonah’s story serves as a great example of someone who may not have started well, but ended up finishing well.
