I was raised in a Christian home and regularly attended church. Around age 8 God begin to work in my life and I increasingly enjoyed reading the Bible and learning more from my Pastor & teachers at church. At age 11 I realized I needed more than head knowledge of the Bible and trusted Jesus as my Savior & Lord. Shortly after my public profession of faith I followed the Lord in baptism. After growing in my walk with the Lord, at age 19 I surrendered to full time vocational ministry. After graduating college from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Recreation, I attended New Orleans Seminary for one semester and then graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky with a Master’s degree in Christian Education.
How long have you been in full time ministry? How long have you been at FBC?
I have had the joy of serving in full time ministry for 45 years in five states (KY, AL twice, GA, MS, & TN). I have served at First Baptist Athens since June of 2013.

Interesting, not so well known, fact about yourself.
My summer job for three summers was to work for the recreation department in Lexington. KY. I planned and organized activities for the school age kids at a playground in a subdivision. One year we had a pit dug out filled it with water and had a tug of war with other play grounds. We managed to get a local TV station to come & cover the event. I never saw the interview or the coverage because it was long before the time we had a device to record anything on TV.
