Crystal Sims is excited to be back home at First Baptist Church Athens, serving as Women’s Ministry Director. She is here to encourage women to know the Lord, grow in His Word, and live out their faith passionately.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Crystal made a profession of faith at four years old. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Athens State University and a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Over the years, Crystal has served in a variety of ministry roles, including college and young adult ministry, youth ministry, music ministry, and women’s ministry. She most recently worked as the Ministry Assistant for the Limestone Baptist Association and continues to work part-time as a chaplain.
Crystal especially loves teaching God’s Word, discipling women in small groups, and encouraging others in their walk with Christ. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her dog, Chewy, spending time with family and friends. Crystal’s favorite verse is I Samuel 12:24:
24 Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
